During April’s last week, WB Games Montreal officially hired a new community manager named Pauline Zampolini (@Pahulle1 on Twitter), who’s been responsible for communicating and engaging the Arkham community across the studio’s official social media accounts. WB stayed inactive on Twitter for over four months, ever since the last teaser for their upcoming Batman game, posted on January 9th.
However, the recent updates have in no way been related to the game itself, rumored to be codenamed ‘Project Mercury’ inside the studio. Last weekend, WB Montreal’s Instagram and Facebook bios were updated, with one of them exclaiming: “Follow our daily events!”.
This led many people to believe that a game annoucement was just around the corner, yet the “daily events” are actually related to the very talented people working at the studio. From job listing posts, to exclusive videos that will let us know more about the developers and why they love making video games. On top of that, Pauline took the opportunity to address the hype and high anticipation for the game on behalf of everyone at WB Montreal in a tweet.
Despite there not being any more teasers or concrete information on the Batman game, it’s very positive to see them active and communicating with the fans. A video was posted today, Friday (5/15), on their social media accounts, and it happens to be the first video published on their Facebook page since 2016, back when they were gearing up for the projects that unfortunately ended up canceled.
We know from a report from Jason Schreier back in March that WB originally planned on doing an E3 press conference in order to talk about not only WB Montreal’s game, but also Rocksteady Studios’ project, and officially announce what the future of the DC universe in games has in store for us. With E3 out of the way, though, it’s unknown what their current plan is, and whether or not they intend to announce any of these games during the Summer Game Fest event that goes from May to August.
