With just 12 days to go before the Vatican meeting on sex abuse February 21-24th, we need to get the word out to as many as possible.  The more people that sign, more the Vatican will listen!

Recently the Vatican has been watering down expectations as to any real change from this meeting. Its mostly going over procedures and  paperwork administration.  There are even doubts if "zero tolerance" will be issued as a policy.  The Pope, the other day lamented the rapes of Sisters but said he can't stop it overnight!

If you are tired of the ongoing crisis and want to see real, substantive changes, now is the time to spread the word as far and wide as possible.  Otherwise this drip, drip , drip of a scandal will be with us for many years to come.

For self educational purposes to see how bad the situation really is, please read over the following links, written by former Monk & Priest AW Richard Sipe, who treated over 1000 offending priests and conducted 30 years of research on the subjects of celibacy, priesthood, sexuality & clergy sex abuse.  While some/most of it is hard to read (and believe) it paints an awful picture of what happens behind the scenes so to speak. These commentaries are the strongest arguments for an allowance of a married priesthood.

I apologize for the number of links, there are over 1000 pages of similar information and forensic reports for court trials on Sipe's website.

For those unfamiliar with me, I retired from 25 + years in law enforcement, and while not my primary duty, worked on a number of child pornography and child stalking cases.

Sincerely,

Christopher Tolton
