One of my veterinary colleagues (Dr. Anne Downes) has long been a pillar in the Ottawa community for humane animal care and as a mentor for new technicians and veterinarians in Ontario.  She has started a petition to end the use of wildlife for the process of training hunting dogs.  This inhumane practice is barbaric and needs to stop immediately.

The Ontario Government is proposing amendments to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act to allow new licenses for facilities that use captive foxes, coyotes and rabbits as bait to train hunting dogs.
