The sale of baby elephants from Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park to China in 2015 attracted heavy criticism from wildlife experts and activists alike, after some elephants died and others showed signs of malnutrition and neglect.

Why is the Namibian Government prepared to perpetrate yet another injustice on innocent animals when the Zimbabwean baby elephants were not being looked after and now there is a news black-out on their condition and welfare?

Elephants belong in the wild, NOT in a zoo in cramped concrete conditions.  Elephants are highly social animals and to remove them from their herd is absolute cruelty and a total absence of compassion and understanding.  And if they become ill and/or die, then that would be the worst crime against a highly endangered species on our planet.

It would appear that the Namibian Government is also more interested in money than in protecting our African heritage! Disgraceful!
