As a result of the successful certified recall we ask that Janie Gebhardt, Jackie Cranor, Dave Mattson, along with Jim Facer and Paul Vitale, tol step down as members of the Pocatello/Chubbuck School Board 25 Board of Trustees.
While we the undersigned don't necessarily agree or disagree on every point of contention we do agree that the Pocatello/Chubbuck School Board's general disregard for the community, their failure to listen, and to acknowledge dissenting community voices, and their failure to meet with and discuss issues of school district interest with concerned community members, is inappropriate and wrong
We have never had an expectation that we will be in agreement with every decision any public official makes, but we do have the expectation that our representatives make an effort to communicate with those they represent in a fair, open and unbiased way without predetermined opinions or outcomes. Given that experience has shown this not to be the case, it is time for the current board to step down and allow others more capable and open to conducting school district business in a fair and open way to correct this unfortunate situation.
We thank you for your service and ask respectfully that you step aside for the betterment of Pocatello, the School District, and the Students.
