This is a simple message with a simple request

To save a species, the pangolin

The pangolin is the most trafficked animal in the world

Over one million killed in the last decade

Considered a delicacy, considered a medicine

Yet lacking any medicinal or therapeutic benefit

All eight species of pangolin are on the verge of extinction

An extinction hidden from the world, an unfamiliar animal

Most are unaware of the pangolin and its plight

Many may want to be

A beautifully unique and environmentally beneficial species

A species that has been around for 50 million years

For these reasons, I hereby pledge:

1.     To not buy any pangolin product; including medicinal or therapeutic offerings made from pangolin scales, organs, or otherwise.

2.     To not eat pangolin meat, nor support a restaurant or other establishment that serves pangolin meat to its customers.

3.     To bear witness to the destruction of pangolin habitat and encourage sustainable use and building in pangolin habitats

4.     To educate my peers on the pangolin and the danger it faces

5.     To spread information about pangolin conservation efforts throughout the world

6.     That the pangolin is deserving of protection
