Allahabad.

We are citizens of Allahabad. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians people of all religion identify themselves proudly not as people belonging from a particular religion but as 'Allahabadi'. This name is not just a name, it is a feeling in itself. We have our emotions attached to it. It is what has kept us united.

The decision to change its name from Allahabad to Prayagraj is outrightly unreasonable, unnecessary and illogical. The money they'll be spending on making changes to the various signboards, documents etc could be better utilized for some legitimate purpose. There are more relevant things that need to be addressed than mere rechristening a city for no reason. 

Something with which we have identified with for so long can not be taken away so easy. 

It is a humble request on the behalf of all the Allahabadis that the decision to change its name be reconsidered.
