Save Hollywood -- Modify the Hollywood Community Plan

This petition had 9 supporters

The residents of Hollywood are asking for your support in modifying the proposed Hollywood Community Plan. This document is based on flawed data. The City of LA contends that the population of Hollywood will increase to 250,000 by 2030. When in actuality, the population has declined steadily to more than 7% in the last 20 years and shows no trend toward growing. Based on this inaccurate information, the Plan will increase density, congestion; traffic and noise putting undo stress on emergency and community services and infrastructure.

Variances and height limits established to protect environmental impact will be waived. Developers will be able to Manhattanize Hollywood with residents having little recourse to object. We do not aspire to vertical living. We enjoy our green space that is compatible with the southern California climate.
Help us maintain our community. The City of Los Angeles calls Hollywood a regional hub. It is a Community with homes, schools, churches and recreational facilities. It is where residents raise and educate their children and plan their futures. Help us maintain the quality of life that would vanish under this Plan.

Please SIGN our petition or email the PLUM committee (Sharon.Gin@lacity.org and refer to file 12-0303) and let them know that this is not a Community Plan. It is really a "Developer’s Plan" that will lower our quality of life and irrevocably change the historic nature of Hollywood.
