I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has already signed our pledge encouraging fellow residents to divest from political establishments supporting war and genocide.

In our nation, we are sold a vision of perceived freedom and democracy. However, time and again, we are reminded that politicians prioritize big money and corrupt corporations. The ongoing destruction of communities abroad, particularly the genocide occurring before our eyes, is beyond unacceptable. It is crucial that we do not turn away or forget.

As election season approaches, we must act in alignment with our values if we hope to restore the true essence of democracy. Reflecting on Senator Bernie's campaign within the Democratic Party, we witnessed the impact of a convenient loophole – superdelegates in the caucus system. Despite winning the popular vote, Bernie's campaign faced sabotage at the hands of a few wielding disproportionate power. As we enter another election year, there will likely be attempts to convince us that a third-party vote is equivalent to supporting fascism. However, we must resist the fear tactic and acknowledge that the Democratic Party's interest lie within war and genocide.

We are consistently deceived about our government's values, where our tax money is allocated, and the true priorities of our political leaders. To dismantle this illusion, we must actively engage in discussions with our family, friends, and colleagues about the importance of divesting from the two-party system to safeguard our democracy. 

At this critical juncture, pledging to vote third party in 2024 is a small yet impactful step. By doing so, we aim to exert pressure on our government to call a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, ending the tragic massacre and illegal occupation of Palestine.

Lastly, I extend a prayer for our fellow brothers and sisters across the globe. To the creator, universe, great spirit, and all that is, we seek guidance and strength in these challenging times. May we find the resolve to stand against injustice, protect our Earth, and embrace the love that unites us as human beings indigenous to this planet. May we be awakened to the truth and act with urgency for the children of the world. Please hear our prayers, guide us, forgive us, and help us build for the future.
