David Keter is officially a permanent resident of Canada! Welcome to Canada Keter!

I take this opportunity with alot of joy and humility to thank you for amplifying our beloved Keter's family call for support. Thank you for your every effort to share and reshare this petition.  I also want to thank CBC Halifax for highlighting this matter and giving it the relevance it deserves. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank every ally that has teamed up to make this entire engagement a success.

Despite all the traumas of the entire experience, I also take this opportunity to thank the immigration decision makers for reconsidering their prior decisions that could have detrimental effects to this young family, and giving Keter, his wife, and his young children the sobriety to be a family unit, and an opportunity to collectively be productive members of this country they all now call home, and the African community in Canada at large. 

One key take away from every refugee claimant experience that I would like to highlight to the decision makers is that, despite their multidimensional vulnerabilities at multiple intersections of race, gender, class, place of origin, sex, ability/disability, given an opportunity, every refugee claimant Canada big dreams, multifaceted talents, abilities and competencies. Their needs are distinct due to multiple embodiments that may not necessarily be obvious or fit in any criteria known by established standards. However, all that they require is an opportunity to be heard, to be believed in, and a safe place that Canada is, and opportunity to be productive members of the Canadian society. Give them a chance.

Above everything else, I give glory to God who has made everything possible. Our work continues.
