A big thank you to everyone who has signed and shared my petition, we have over 660 signatures- that's the GOOD news, here's the BAD news. In order for the Legistlature to consider a petition valid according to our local MLA Randene Neill's office, we need to have hand signed ink signatures with printed names and addresses. Here what we can do about this- let's flood Randene's and Josie Osborne's email with letters of support for more long term care beds on the Sunshine Coast. Feel free to cut and paste my blurb in the post and add your own personal story at the beginning of the email about your experience waiting for a loved ones long term care bed or worrying about you/your loved one's future living arrangements here locally. Imagine what a difference a flood of 600 emails could make. I am being interviewed by CTV news next week as well as few other petition supporters with lived experience in LTC here, so stay tuned for more information about when it's airing. A story in the Coast Reporter is coming as well as a response from Randene Neill.
Here's her email: randene.neill.mla@leg.bc.ca
Here's the Health Minister's (Honourable Josie Osborne) HLTH.minister@gov.bc.ca
Many thanks to all of you again, we can help to bring change in our beloved Coastal community by working together on this important issue...
Sincerely,
Sarah (a concerned daughter of an 88 year old Mum -both former RN's)
