Although a day fee is unpopular with local residents  we need to offer creative and progressive ways to protect and save this area from further degradation. We can all work together to preserve wild and scenic areas. Some ideas that have been proposed are:

- monthly use passes for locals

- free access to locals showing drivers license 

- updated signage explaining appropriate use of the area

- each person who picks up a bag of trash gets free access 

- regular BLM staff on-site to monitor use and noise pollution

- gate closure from 10pm to 6pm to prevent overnight camping
