Hi friends! The Animal Advocates of Craven County, NC are going to be approaching the Commissioners in that County on June 5 at 6:30pm about passing a "No Chains" or Anti-Tethering Ordinance. So far the Animal Advocates I have spoken with in Craven County, NC say that the Commissioners do not appear to be very responsive or receptive to this issue. Summer is coming, and many dogs will languish on chains in the heat in Craven County. Anytime a County has to make this painful change, painful due to the influx of resources needed, it sometimes requires a little help from our friends in the Animal World. In Randolph County, NC, after the Tethering Bill was passed, it was very chaotic, and the Animal Control Office was flooded and bombarded with calls, calls from angry idiots who chain their dogs, as well as the citizens who report them, for about 6 months. After 6 months of chaos, the people who reside in Randolph County, NC seem to have become accustomed to the rules now, and the chaos has died down. Just like any major change, everyone eventually gets used to the change.
