Dear friends and neighbors

First, a sincere thanks for joining voices against this most tone-deaf proposal to build America's 4th largest casino in our family-friendly haven. 

We now have 8,200 and counting signatures. Spread the word one last time and lets get to 10,000 by the time the CAC convenes in the morning at 9am.

Tomorrow's the day when we hear the decision made by the Casino Advisory Committee (CAC) formed of the representatives of the Governor Hochul, Mayor Adams, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, City Council Member Keith Powers, Assemblyman Harvey Epstein and State Senator Kristen Gonzalez.

The developers brought in employees of Mohegan Sun on party buses to the Public Hearings which were meant for the residents of the neighborhood and then said that 58% of those who spoke were in favor of the casino! Deduct the staff on Mohegan Sun and Soloviev's payroll and this number would be ~10%.

 The developers also took the elderly from Kips Bay to Mohegan Sun in Uncasville for a junket, gave the local organizations large donations in the last year, offered free food and drinks to people who sided for the casino and finally, threw in all apartment units attached to the casino as affordable housing to bend the politicians. It looks like they are trying to buy their way into winning the approval.
