An update was posted last night in the Pembroke Observer and News.

"UPDATE: At the City of Pembroke Parks and Recreation Committee meeting held on Jan. 16, the night after the public budget meeting at which the closure of the Kinsmen Pool was discussed, council members passed a motion to repair the Kinsmen Pool pending financial commitments from surrounding municipalities and other stakeholders.

Pembroke Mayor Ron Gervais moved, that repairs are to be made to the Kinsmen Pool at a cost of $1.4 million pending commitment from surrounding municipalities, municipal partners, and other sources in the amount of 25 per cent and direction to communicate with municipal partners, and others to that end.

The motion was seconded by Councillor Ian Kuehl and was passed unanimously."

Please continue to share and ask supporters to sign the petition. We still need our community behind the repair and community partners to participate. Pembroke will look to pass the budget over the next few days. Our petition can be found here: https://www.change.org/p/please-repair-kinsmen-pool
