Please release Mercurio and Giove to HKDR so they can be rehomed permanently
The Issue
Mercurio and Giove, two innocent souls, suddenly lost their owner and now find themselves without a home. The tragedy of their situation is heartbreaking, and it's compounded by the fact that the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) in Hong Kong is refusing to let Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) take them so they can find their home even when Mercurio and Giove were adopted through Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR). This refusal is contrary to what the AFCD should stand for, which is the protection and wellbeing of animals.
The organization is ready and willing to provide Mercurio and Giove with the love and care they deserve. However, AFCD's current stance prevents these dogs from moving forward towards a happy and secure future. This is not only unfair to Mercurio and Giove, but it also negates the very essence of animal rescue.
AFCD's primary objective should be to ensure the welfare of animals, facilitating the adoption process when a viable and trustworthy option like HKDR is available. By allowing HKDR to take custody of Mercurio and Giove, AFCD would demonstrate its commitment to animal welfare and community safety.
We implore AFCD to reconsider their decision.
