Landlords: please relax your rules about your tenants' pets!

The Issue

The UK is currently experiencing a housing crisis that has seen many more people sleeping rough or in temporary accommodation due to a lack of social housing and increasingly strict rules regarding private rentals. I am starting this petition because I believe it is wrong for landlords to expect their tenants to give up their much-loved pets (cats, dogs, rabbits etc) as a requirement of living in their property and paying them a considerable income every month. It is cruel and unfair, not to mention putting added pressure on organisations such as the RSPCA and other animal welfare organisations when tenants are forced to rehome their pets.
