El Rancho de Lalo was started in 2010 by founder Carlos Zuluaga, who is very well known as “Lalo”. When he began this journey it all began with one concept: bringing honest and humble Colombian food to the community and to the world.

For many years, "El Rancho" has built an excellent reputation not only in food but customer service.

Watch our story on YouTube Like any business, with effort and sacrifice, "El Rancho" has been creating a brand that not only has quickly positioned itself in the Latino community, but also welcomes clients from all over the world. 

After 11 years of being in Brixton Village Market, it was very clear that the restaurant needed to expand, the queue on a busy day was very apparent and the space was becoming a challenge. So with growth comes positive change, and "El Rancho" found a new and bigger location in the same area.

The new premises comfortably sits up to 70 guests, far more different to its previous location where only 20 guests could dine in.  But still maintaining the traditional touch and preserving our unforgettable flavours.

 "El Rancho" focuses on giving our customers the experience of Colombia. The restaurant was designed to feel like you are in Colombia, with luxury authentic Colombian coffee, outstanding traditional food and a very family atmosphere.

With our new premises, "El Rancho" now has a beautiful space to dine in and ensure all its visitors enjoy their visit from the moment they walk in.

Having new and bigger premises also came with following many rules and applying for licences, one of the new licenses we have applied for is Alcohol & Entertainment license, with the intention that clients are able to enjoy an alcoholic beverage during their meals. This was a very popular request in the past but due to the space, this was not done until now.

Unfortunately, a community member has been objecting to the approval of the licence for the restaurant. Resulting in now having to attend a hearing for this. 

Due to this result, we have decided to start this petition to ask everyone and especially, clients that are familiar with the restaurant to support us in giving our neighbours the reassurance WE ARE NOT A NIGHTCLUB but a family restaurant where our aim will always be to ensure every meal, we serve is not only exquisite but a very relaxed experience for everyone from beginning to end.

Can we ask you for your support with your signature to prove to the courts that we are not in any way a nightclub or a place that will disturb anyone's peace but a traditional Colombian restaurant?
