Your outpouring of support has been unbelievable   We now have over 770 signatures on our online petition and that does not include all the signatures we have signed in ink.

We would like to invite you to our meeting with Oceanside City Councilmember (District 1) Eric Joyce to discuss our concerns about the project.  This is an unbelievable opportunity for us to voice our concerns and it is like the City Council coming to us.  Even if you have nothing to say, please come and stand shoulder to shoulder with the community.

The meeting will be held at 6 PM PST on Monday February 6th, 2023.

The photo selected is a representation of the property line (red), previous building, and proposed new development (yellow).  We believe that it is a better representation of gigantic proposed size of the development when compared to the Airport Runway.  You can also see how close it is to the Bike Trail, San Luis Rey River Watershed (Protected Habitat), and neighborhood homes (located on the other side of the San Luis Rey River).

ACTION ITEMS

1.  SAVE THE DATE:  City Council Meeting on the evening of February 15, 2023, where we plan to present our concerns to the City Council and Mayor and leave a lasting impression of our support in opposition to this development.  We need lots of people to go, and to wear “BLUE” shirts, so we make a visual impression in the chambers for the City Council and the Mayor to see.  Please understand that this development is not formally on the agenda but we plan to leave them with a lasting impression that there are lots of us already working to oppose this development.  More details to follow.

2.  Please continue to share this this petition with your local community, friends, sports/social group, church, etc.  ANYONE 18 years or older can sign the petition.

3.  If you have time, please leave a comment about why you support this petition and “like” the existing comments.  Even if you already signed the petition, you can go back to the petition website and leave a comment at any time.  Comments humanize our concerns in a way that signatures cannot capture.

4.  We are looking for volunteers that would be willing to sit outside of a popular Oceanside grocery store to collect paper signatures and communicate our concerns to the community.  We already have permission from the grocery store.  Volunteers would sit/stand at a card table and interact with people walking in and out of the store.  If you would be willing to volunteer some of your time, please contact eddiejoneswarehouse@gmail.com
