The County Council's efforts to sell the Old Library have fallen through a second time.

Love Mill Road is hosting a community meeting on 15th October to discuss options for moving the Old Library back into community use/ownership.  This is a continuation of community meetings first held in 2022 which resulted in a bid by members of the local community, incorporating the wishes of thousands of people, to re-open the building as a shared cultural space for all of Cambridge and wider environs.

The building has many challenges. There are no services, no heating, no ventilation and the building is being left to deteriorate without any activity therein. After two failed attempts to sell the Library, will the County make it possible to move the Old Library into community use/ownership?
