Last night the vote for school unification took place. Prior to the vote taking place the plan was revised from five schools to only two. I am happy to announce that a vote of NO passed. NO small schools will be closed at this time!!! The Small Schools Resolution has also been rescinded!!! The Columbian community thanks everyone for their support! We are so grateful for all of you that took the time to sign the petition, sent emails, attended community meetings and came together to make this possible! We did this together! We look forward to now facing upcoming challenges together with the DPS School Board and the Superintendent as a team. We hope this is just the first step in regaining the trust of the community and we will be included in any future decisions. We are all in this together. We all owe it to our children to make sure we can provide them with the best future possible. Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much!
