Something to share for all you social media savvy folk out there - we're now on Facebook(if I hit the right button!) so another platform to help air and share information on the more feasible, more sustainable options to support local sport needs without damaging the very fabric and character of the Park and its vital open and natural spaces.
Busy, busy, busy getting the word out to all who'll listen and encouraging people to not just sign the petition (and thanks to all who have already - incredible we're approaching 300 signatures already!) but to share it and take that necessary step of sending your thoughts on the planned development of Shanganagh Park to DLRCOCO by the 01 Feb deadline.
A word of warning - the petition will send a verification email to each person signing so just check your junk mail/spam folder in case the verification email is lurking in there - you won't have signed otherwise!
And please keep the comments coming once you sign - some really great comments about the impact on mobility, personal safety and lack of infrastructure if passive users looking for some peace to walk and relax are effectively consigned to the seaward side of the park if training and matches are taking place.
And two quick questions for DLRCOCO:
- will you ever get to Phase Two of the Masterplan or do we just have to hope you'll make the Castle available in years to come? #AskingForManyFriends
- can you please, PLEASE turn off the park lights during the day? It's been months now and even if they're low energy, they still use energy and cost money to run! #AndYouWantFloodlights?
