The hives program has decided Jazzy will not be reinstated, because she has been in DKA and hospitalized 3 or 4 times for overnight IV fluids in the ICU.. They feel that she is worsening and could go into dka suddenly during an activity and die within minutes. The Center feels it is proof of her diabetes becoming more serious because she got a pump a year ago. They feel that sometimes if she gets lethargic and sluggish so it must mean DKA is coming on. One time Jazzy dropped test strips in the van and didn't wash her hands after testing so she needs 1 on 1 care and supervision" .
