UPDATE SEPTEMBER 7, 2023:
SHOCK AND DISBELIEF! Andrew was discharged from the CAMH at 1:00 a.m., September 6, 2023. by Dr. Kien Crosse, Resident Doctor. He was working under a senior psychiatrist, but we don't know his or her name. He said that Andrew had free will to go as the doctor said he did not meet the criteria for HARM TO SELF OR OTHERS.
He said that Andrew would be provided with information regarding a day program where he could see a psychiatrist, nurse, social worker etc. Also information would be available on housing i.e. shelter. Do you really think for one moment that Andrew would avail himself of these services? I think not!
The symptom of ANOSOGNOSIA does not permit Andrew to understand that he is seriously ill. It causes the mentally ill to come off their medications. It also gives a lack of judgement and logic. Andrew has been making one bad decision after another. Asking to leave the hospital was a very bad and dangerous decision.
I advised the doctor that the JP issued an order that the Ontario psychiatrist contact the P.E.I. psychiatrist. He said he was not required to do this. However, Division 12 Police took Andrew to CAMH as ordered by the JP.
I feel that this young doctor has signed a death certificate for our son, Andrew. He will not be able to survive on the streets of Ontario this winter, as he refuses shelters, and soup kitchens. He will be found frozen in a snow bank and this is our reality! So much for the mental health care system.
We had him and the hospital let him go in the middle of the night with his tattered clothes and worn out sneakers into a heatwave. It was 26 degrees but felt like 35 with the humidity. Surely an injured stray dog would be more humanely treated!

FIRST SIGHTINGS
11:15 a.m. Andrew was on corner of Vaughan Road and St. Clair Ave. He was going west on St. Clair talking to himself.
11:20 a.m. Was on St. Clair West of Bathurst heading towards Vaughan Road.
11:45 a.m. Was walking on St. Clair West at Christie.
12:42 p.m. Andrew was at corner of Rodgers Road and Westmount Ave. The man asked if Andrew would like something to drink. Andrew did not reply and kept on walking. He was bare belly and carrying his shirt in his hand. He was drenched in sweat, as it was 26 degrees but with humidity felt like 35 degrees.
1:15 p.m. Andrew was seen walking on Park Hill Road near the Lawrence Allen Centre.
2:00 p.m. Andrew was offered food or drink but he did not respond and was muttering outside Lawrence Allen Centre.
3:30 p.m. Saw Andrew on Keele walking north of Ingram talking to himself and soaking wet.
3:50 p.m. Saw Andrew at Keele and 401. He was travelling north on Keele.
??? Spotted Andrew south of Lawrence in front of McDonald's.
3:56 p.m. Walking north on Keele St. and 401 His hair and clothes looked wet as it rained earlier.
4:10 p.m. Andrew was seen walking westbound on Wilson Avenue and Keele walking in direction of Humber Hospital.

I believe the song, "You'll Never Walk Alone" is very fitting for our son, Andrew, and me. The photo of Jesus with a young man looks like Andrew. Our son's dream to become a Bank Manager was tossed and blown when he became mentally ill five years ago.
Andrew has suffered immensely through snow storms, cold temperatures, darkness, freezing rain, hail, high winds, torrential downpours, thunder, lighting, and heat waves.
But I believe God has walked every step of the way with Andrew over thousands of miles. He is holding our son in the palm of his hand providing protection. Andrew was a Youth Leader and Deacon at The First Baptist Church, Charlottetown, P.E.I. He was a much loved and respected Assistant Bank Manager.

My worst nightmare came true for the past few days when Andrew hit the streets in Toronto again. Andrew is an elite marathon runner. It is obvious that Andrew can not protect himself from the heat. Do you think Andrew will be able to protect himself from cold temperatures, snow storms, freezing rain, and hail in winter?
The heat warning states there is greater risk for people who are exercising outdoors. There are various effects including heat exhaustion, heat stroke, swelling, rash, cramps, and fainting.

I think it best to offer Andrew your generous grocery item. If he politely declines, offer to leave it near Andrew and perhaps he will accept it. He has been politely turning down offers of food, water and money. It seems he will only accept what he feels he needs at the time and refuses to hoard.
It broke my heart to hear our son's voice in the McDonald's video. Andrew was politely trying to decline the $20, but the most kind and generous lady insisted that he accept it.
We have not heard our son's voice since January 2023 in Moncton, N.B., when we pleaded with Andrew to come home and he refused. There was nothing we could do. We did not know when or if we would ever see our son, Andrew again!

I have a team of very gifted and talented individuals who are guiding, encouraging and supporting me daily. The list is extensive.
In particular, I wish to thank Maureen Trask, Advocate for Missing Persons. Maureen's son, Daniel, went missing and unfortunately was discovered deceased. Maureen facilitates a Peer Support Group for Missing Persons. I am a member of that group. Maureen also successfully lobbied for the Ontario Missing Persons Act with the assistance of MPP Catherine Fife.
Also, I wish to thank Kerry McLane, volunteer investigator with the PLEASE BRING ME HOME ORGANIZATION. Kerry helped search for Andrew in Ontario. In addition, Kerry suggested I start the PLEASE BRING ANDREW BRYENTON HOME TO P.E.I. PETITION.
