Finally! A news interview was conducted to educate Kentucky citizens about SB 14. Janet Rowland, co-founder of UNITED Against Dog-Fighting, along with Courtney Gray, an Animal Control Officer, was interviewed on WHAS11 News yesterday! They did an awesome job of getting the information out there. The link to the interview is attached so you can see it for yourselves! The bill had been presented to the house, but then sent to the Agriculture Committee, where it is still sitting at this very moment. No action has been taken on the bill at this time. It has been said that the Kentucky Houndsmen Association, who previously approved the language before the bill was presented, have reconsidered and are now questioning the language of the bill! This seems to me to be merely a stalling tactic, in order to kill the bill. Why they want to kill it when it really does not affect their hunting interests in any way is still beyond me! The legislators appear to be listening the Houndsmen and placing their wants above the interests of the 90% of Kentuckians that want this legislation passed! KENTUCKIANS WE NEED YOUR HELP! We must continue to let our legislators know that we want this bill passed! If you have not called the legislative number to leave a message yet, please do so! If you have, please do so again! Call every day to let them know that we want this bill passed and to show them that we outnumber the hunting organizations in our state that want to kill this bill! The number is 1-800-372-7181. Ask to leave a message for Senator Paul Hornback, Senator Damon Thayer, and your own personal legislators. Tell them you would like their support on SB 14, the anti-dogfighting legislation.
