Mr. Jim is a person all kids at Pleasantdale know and love. He used to be a janitor there, cleaning at our lunch time. He would sing happy birthday to everyone, also giving them a birthday bracelet. He would go around everyday, giving a fist bump to all of the kids, telling them they look good today, or telling them a joke to make them smile. When a student didn’t have money to buy lunch, he would give them some cash, so they could eat. He would also have popsicle days, buying every student a popsicle to enjoy during lunch on those especially hot days. Even after he retired a few years ago, he still comes back almost every day to see the kids grow up. He thinks of the students as family, as his kids.  

Recently, he has been suspended from coming back because he called a couple of girls “cute,” with the intention of brightening their day by complimenting them. Unfortunately, the girls took it the wrong way, and told their parents who reported him to the principal, who eventually told the police. He is being interrogated. 

This is man has the kindest soul out there, he looks out for the kids before himself, and did anything to make us feel better.
