Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, also known as PLDT, is one of the most popular internet service in the Philippines. It is the number 1 internet service provider, and considered as the largest telecom company in the country. However, there is a problem on the billing process and their disconnection notice. Many of the Filipinos pay for the internet by the end of the month immediately having short grace period. This is very alarming because there should be a much longer grace period on paying their bills. PLDT's internet service has no consistency when it comes to disconnection notice and if the consumers do not pay them immediately, there is a high percentage that their subscription will be cut off. There are few who received disconnection notice but some subscribers reported that they didn’t receive any kind of notice with regards to the disconnection. According to Mr. Manalastas, a professor and a PLDT subscriber, "Their policy is their discretion as company but they should consider the welfare and convenience of their customers. Granted that the customers failed to pay on the due date but they should have concern to the conditions of their clients. As company they should be the one who. can understand and give leeway to their clients in settling the payment" The service of PLDT must change to allow a more flexible transaction.
