Way back in 2015, we started this little toy box revolution and asked the global toy industry to better represent 150 million disabled children worldwide.
At the time it was a bit of a left field idea. Who wants a deaf Barbie? A Lottie doll with dwarfism? Ken with vitiligo? Well, we told you so. Nearly 8 years on, these products all exist! Change did come, and your seed signature on this petition, did go somewhere, did grow into something and did change the toy box for all!
Today, we are an arts and play organisation still starting playful conversations with children about disability to boost self esteem and grow open minds.
We are grant funded and have reached 1000s of children with our playful message of inclusion.
This week we have gone one step further and opened an Etsy shop to sell 3D printed toy hearing aids, cochlear implants and BAHAs for little deaf bears and other cuddly critters.
All proceeds go towards our non-profit work in schools and public events. So if you know a little deaf bear, a hard of hearing hound or a rabbit who keeps turning the telly up VERY loud, (yes, we are deaf-led so we are allowed to make this joke!) please consider supporting them, and us with a purchase.
Just 3 mins of playing with a disabled toy is proven to help non-disabled children become more open minded! Win, win!
Love and friendship,
