Senator Jacqui Lambie has flagged it, and our phones have been ringing about it - veterans are being cut off from medicinal cannabis, and a lot of people are worried about where independent medical examinations are heading.
DVA posted this on Monday 28 April - giving veterans three days to register for an event that directly affects their healthcare. That's not an oversight. That's a short window designed to limit who shows up and what questions get asked. So let's show up anyway.
The online Town Hall is Wednesday 7 May, 6pm–7pm. Topics include medicinal cannabis, independent medical examinations, fee guidance, and more.

When you register, you can submit a question. Use it. Some things worth asking:
Why were these medicinal cannabis changes implemented without collecting any clinical outcome data first?
Will veterans be able to choose their own treating doctor for independent medical examinations, or will DVA decide?
How does DVA justify using a sole-provider contract for veteran medical assessments?
Whether they answer those questions honestly is another matter. But the questions on the record - asked by real veterans -matter.
Register. Show up. Make them answer.
Nothing happens behind closed doors.
