PETITION FOR A CROSSING DOWN ON THE SOUTHERN END OF ANDOVER ROAD

Hello everyone,

I hope this finds everyone well.

As you may have seen, after several years my fight for a reduction of speed on safety grounds, and because it met Government speed requirements, took a great step forward last year with approval for the 20mph zone outside the schools when flashing and a reduction from 30mph to 40mph further down in the southern residential end of the Andover Rd (not quite as far down as I'd have liked but it is a start).  I also requested a pedestrian crossing which was reliant on this reduction in speed before it could be approved. It would be roughly in the area of Badsworth to allow easier access to the bus stops there and community buildings in Glendale and also to join the 2 sides of Wash Common together. I know my kids rely on me to get them across the road to see their friends. Our Wash Common Councillors, both Greens and Lib Dems, have been very supportive and have set up the petition they need to present to West Berkshire Council to prove there is local support for this crossing.
