NEW (3RD!) SANDLEFORD PLANNING APPLICATION FROM BLOOR HOMES

NEW (3RD!) PLANNING APPLICATION FROM BLOOR HOMES Reference number 16/03309/OUTMAJ. **** Please share to friends in the Newbury Area **** As far as we know, no email alert has been sent out by the Planning Dept. Outline planning permission requested for the North and Central parcels of Sandleford only. It includes 2 entrance/exit routes onto Monk's Lane and covers building 1000 homes, a primary school, a local centre, a care home and the country park. There is no specific response date other than a determination deadline of 28 Mar 17. Although, the Wash Common Action Group is concerned primarily with the proposed Warren Rd access, we are concerned that if Sandleford is not considered as a whole (as per WBC policy CS3) then the Warren Rd will be developed in the Western parcel at a later date and may not be linked to the rest of Sandleford, resulting in this parcel's traffic having the one access route of Warren Rd. We know that Donnington Homes is also considering further development and so planning as a "whole site" is seen as essential to make sure Sandleford is future-proof. There is also the impact of HGV movements near the schools during the long construction period if a route is not considered, prior to any construction taking place, that avoids all 4 local schools and preferably Newbury College as there is no proposed A339 access within this new Planning Application. The planning application 16/03309/OUTMAJ fails West Berkshire Council's Strategic Site CS3 criteria, in that the Sandleford site should be considered as a whole. Only a coherent and complete planning application will properly address the impact of this site on local residents and the town as a whole. I will compile a cut and paste objection letter after the New Year period if anyone wants one, please let me know. Email washcommonactiongroup@gmail.com Otherwise, I ask that you notify West Berkshire Council of any objections you may have, thank you.
