SahWira Africa International strongly criticises Plan International Finland’s campaign

“Maternity wear for a 12-year old”. The campaign is racist, sexist and violates child rights. The campaign used a real life story of a 12 year old girl  from Zambia going through childhood pregnancy.

 SahWira acting on behalf off black and PoC people ask Plan International to give a public apology, return the prizes they got because of this campaign, and pay Fridah for child labour. A child cannot be asked to work for the whole community for free. We also want them to tell us what they will do to correct this stereotypical representation of black Africans and PoC in future. 

 Returning the prizes will discourage others from racist, sexist, child abuse and stereotype representations and practises.
