To reduce in-valley traffic, minimize parking and to make getting around Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows easier, our community needs a local transit system. Linking this local service with existing regional services (TART) as well as providing evening service that connects the Valley with Truckee and Tahoe City will extend the value of this transit system for both locals and visitors alike.

The formation of a Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) is being considered as a means of funding a Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows Micro Mass Transit District program that will make it easy for both residents and visitors to get around without a car. 

Squaw Valley Ski Holdings has committed to funding one third of the non-assessment revenue needed.  The balance of the funds would come from TBID and TOT occupancy fees collected by Placer County.
