Dr Reuben Abati was the spokesperson to Goodluck Jonathan; former President of Nigeria and he vigorously defended the draconian anti same sex marriage bill that his boss signed into law insisting that the law was in line with the cultural and religious beliefs of the people and implying in the process that LGBT people were pedophiles as well as abnormal people.

This law cost LGBT people their lives and liberties, many were arrested and locked up by the police, many lost their homes, sources of livelihood etc. It is therefore a slap to all our faces by handing this same man a podium to deliver the keynote speech at what is basically the premier LGBT forum in Nigeria. This is a collective insult to all of us and if we let this happen, we would be spitting on the graves of our dead comrades.
