I was part of an Unfortunate Crowd who became aware that a Squirrel was trapped in the Drainage Hole of a Pinard Dumpster on Saturday, Oct6th, 2018 in Nashua, NH. After Hours of Toil and Suffering for every Creature Involved, this Squirrel was set free and brought to Wildlife Rehabilitators. He is expected to make it so far, but he is Severely Injured, his Face was Swollen, he had Abrasions all over, he was Badly in Shock, he became friendly to humans; his Entire Squirrel Self was SO Devastated. He was banged up pretty badly, worse than he already was from Hopelessly Struggling, just trying to spare him his Life and get him out. It was Horrific. I am absolutely Traumatized. Those involved are still Upset about It. What doesn't help is the fact that during the rescuing process when we were trying to find someone to care, we were informed that THIS HAPPENS; Monthly as reported by One Critter Control Entity of Merrimack. The Wings of Dawn Wildlife Rehab reported that another squirrel was found to be in this predicament within the last month and wasn't so Lucky-Its FACE was chewed off in the night by another animal while Trapped. People, CHILDREN, have had to see this. The Squirrel we were able to save was trapped there overnight before Caring People discovered it! I am 31 years old and I have Daymares about MY freaking Head being Stuck in a Hole til I die of Starvation or have my Head pecked Off. So should We All as Responsible, Caring, Empathetic Humans because this is HAPPENING to Wildlife and will happen again. Humans have Put Man On The Moon!! I see no reason why either an adjustable hole cant be put in for drainage or even just a smaller hole. I know its "just a squirrel" and they "get hit by cars by the dozens" but Id be able to Sleep Better if this Squirrel was Just hit by a car, Almost Anything would be better than the Slow Helpless Suffering I saw that Squirrel go through, and for Garbage Sake! NOTHING should die like that, Murderers seldom Die like that. I know the World has Big Problems but This can be Easily Fixed and shouldn't be ignored. Please Share this Incident and Sign.
