Dear Friends, During my time of incarceration, phone calls were my lifeline to family and friends. Yet, the charges were outrageous. We paid a dollar a minute for those calls, far beyond the means of most people who are in prison or jail. After many years, the Federal Communications Commission appears ready to put a cap on these prison phone calls of about 11 cents a minute. This would greatly ease the financial burden on many people with loved ones behind bars and help keep families together. They will be voting on this on October 22. I have been working on this issue with the National Campaign for Prison Phone Justice. They are asking you to support them by signing their petition. The url is included here below.
