Improve the System: Stop Smoke Belching Vehicles

The Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999 was one of the few laws passed by the Philippine government that addresses the problem of pollution. This law not only protects the health of the people, but also the well-being of the environment. Although the act has good intentions, the implementation of it falls short. Because of this, we would like to create a petition towards its stricter promulgation.
Smoke belching vehicles play a big role in causing air pollution in the Philippines. In fact, the Philippines is ranked as the 48th largest contributor of carbon emission in the world due to the smoke emitted by large-scale factories and vehicles. Currently, there are about 30 million cars found only in Metro Manila, and these numbers are said to increase in the succeeding years. Therefore, it is necessary that not only the government but also we, the people, take action towards the eradication of the smoke belching vehicles. This is why we need your utmost cooperation.
We appeal to the people in order to act on this matter before it is too late. We are over 7 billion in the world, but there is only one earth. Let us not wait until there is no clean air to breathe anymore. The fact that if we act individually we are able to make a difference, what more if we join hands as a community towards combating this issue?
