Microplastics are small pieces of plastic that pollute the environment. Microplastic pollution is a global problem. It is the accumulation of plastic products in the environment that adversely affects wildlife, wildlife habitat, or humans. People can't live without the use of plastic and most of the time, they litter these plastics everywhere which may end up in bodies of water. Aquatic animals may tend to consume these plastics which may be a threat to them and their health. The effects may affect them negatively and eventually can lead to their death. We, as humans, need these animals for survival. When the food that we are about to partake may be contaminated due to microplastic pollution, our health will also be at risk which can lead to serious health problems and can eventually lead to death when not treated appropriately. 

This petition is for strengthening the laws regarding the use and proper disposal of plastic. We, the author of this petition, are requesting the higher office to take serious action regarding the said problem. We care for the future generations for them to have enough resources to live. This petition is not just for the higher offices but also for the Filipinos who are unknowingly throwing their garbage everywhere not thinking about the consequences it may bring up. This is not just addressed to the Philippine residents but also to the whole world. We are asking you to sign this petition to help come up with a solution to microplastic pollution.
