According to statistics, thousands of animals die annually in the country due to violence and neglect. PAWS have been monitoring more than a hundred cases of animal cruelty every year (many of which are ignored due to the lack of stiff penalties against animal abuse) and recieves approximately 40 calls on cases of animal abuse daily.
