At the end of May 2016, the internet and the world as a whole felt the heartbreaking pain of Cincinnati Zoo, after they had been forced to shoot and kill their beloved gorilla Harambe in order to save a young boy who had fallen into Harambe's enclosure.

Since then, the internet has memorialised Harambe in countless ways, remembering fondly the impact he had on our lives. We feel that by naming this precious newborn gorilla Harambe II, we can continue to respect Harambe's legacy and begin to mend the Harambe-shaped hole in our hearts.
