Let Duke come home

On Saturday March 25 my American pit bull duke was found in southwest Philadelphia with seven stab wounds. I wss unaware that this had occured as I was out of town in NC attending the funeral of my stepfather. Duke had been let into the back yard to use the bathroom and got out of the gate unbeknownst to the individual that I'd left in charge of his care while I was away. I get a call from the spca telling me that they have my dog and that I need to pick him up in one hour or he would be euthanized due to the seriousness of his injuries or surrender him so that they can treat him. I did not want to surrender him because I know when you do this, it automatically prevents you from retrieving your pet. I'm eight hours away, so at the threat of euthanasia I did what I thought was best for my boy. Duke is very loved and taken care of, he has a good home and family that misses him. I just want the Pennsylvania SPCA to consider allowing me to get my dog back. I know that it will be costly and I plan to start a go fund me to hopefully raise the money to help pay his medical bills, I just would at least like to be considered. Please sign this petition, call or write the Pennsylvania SPCA and urge them to let me have my dog back.
