We (Lindsay Duggan and Chris Fuller) have been trying to purchase the city owned vacant land (14xx S Colorado st) behind our home for about 3 years. We have plans to build a teaching garden. I (Lindsay) am a practising herbalist and avid organic gardener and want to share my love and knowledge of plants with others. I intend to use this space to teach basic herbalism classes and community workshops on growing your own food. We are currently in the process of trying to convice the RDA to sell us the property at list price since we are the only resident attatched to it, but very recently a developer has shown interest in purchasing the land for market value. We are collecting signatures from the neighborhood in hopes to show the RDA that it is more important to have a garden that is involved with the community than a new construction home.
