Dear concerned and caring members of the PFC community:
You may know that there will be a meeting of the PFC Board of Directors on Tuesday, February 24th. The link to a Teams meeting is available on the PFC website at https://www.pfckalamazoo.coop/board-of-directors.
A group of concerned owners are aware that there are potentially many PFC owners who would like to attend this meeting, and are looking to avoid technology-related barriers to attendance.
To this end, we have secured space at the Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership for owners to gather to view the meeting. The meeting will be projected on a screen, and owners in attendance may have the opportunity to provide public comment by approaching a shared computer/webcam at the front of the room.
The Board meeting begins at 5:30; please arrive by 5:15 if possible. The address is 205 Monroe Street, Kalamazoo 49006. Free parking is available on nearby streets.
Organizers have asked for a multiracial team of facilitators to help ensure that participation is organized, concise, and respectful. Depending on the length of the public portion of the meeting, there may be time for debriefing and further conversation among those in attendance.
In the spirit of cooperation and transparency, we have invited the Board of Directors to join the ownership at the Arcus Center and conduct their meeting in-person, while offering the Teams option for those who prefer that method. We believe this would show the ownership that the Board is committed to having effective discourse about PFC; of course the Board may choose to conduct their regular online meeting.
We want to be clear that this is not a meeting of a coalition, and that any comments made by members in attendance are the member’s own and do not represent the group. There are many perspectives on the situation and next steps, and there will be space for all of these.
Please remember that several Board seats are up for election this spring. Interested owners should visit https://www.pfckalamazoo.coop/board/run to find more information.
This is the last update you will receive related to the change.org petition, which will be taken down after this email is sent.
Thank you
