Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for your support so far. It’s fantastic to see so many people take a stand for what they believe in. Unfortunately, Dr Maeve Moorcroft (“Head Of Pets” at Pets At Home) still remains dismissive of all of our concerns and is refusing to take any action. On the subject of their cruelly small hamster wheels, she had this to say: “We are aware of most of the links you have kindly sent us already. None of them show evidence of the spinal damage and harm that it is being claimed is being caused by the use of hamster wheels. Evidence of a preference for a particular type of wheel is not the same as evidence of physical harm. As we do not believe that they do cause this harm, there is no reason for us to do the sort of research that would be required. And that is not our role, we are a pet shop and pet service provider.” Please continue to sign and share this petition as far and wide as possible so that Dr Moorcroft can see first hand that their practises are inhumane and we will not stand for them.
