Herefordshire Council Approves route of Western Relief Road

Herefordshire Cabinet met on 27th July 2018 to ignore questions from the public and press on with its destructive plans for an inappropriate dual carridgeway and high level bridge crossing England's fourth largest river and treasured natural asset.
This follows the deliberately incompetent attempt to scrutinise the project in just a few days by the Scrutiny Committee.
The Council attempted to live stream the meeting on-line but failed after 22 minuits.
They provided inadequate glib written responses to primary questions.
They failed to answer most secondary questions satisfactorily but you can be the judge of that.
They failed to demonstrate a clear and competent business case for the proposed road.
They failed to educate the public on the long term traffic implications because they still have not modelled or illustrated proposed motorway relief traffic.
They continue to propose massive housing estates on the flood plain West of Hereford despite everything we learnt from recent floods.
They failed to deliver the 2,000 new jobs promised at Rotherwas, but promise 6,000 from this development.
They are deliberately ignoring modern mass transit solutions like electric buses and trams in order to promote this highly destructive old fashioned infrastructure.
They have failed to maintain existing roads and public transport services, forcing most people to drive.
They are ignoring sustainable development options that could be implemented today.
They are continuing to spend millions of our taxes on consultants with a conflict of interest.
Consultants who are driven by return on shareholders capital, not health or well-being of our city residents.
They have hidden the facts discussed about the environmental impact on the most sensitive environments.
Who will we vote for next Spring?
