ICCRC management has never worked to protect the public; its conduct indicates self-protection to maintain its status as a regulatory body for a financial gain of $9 million per year. ICCRC has over $4.0 million in reserve funds as of now, which the management intends to use to pay themselves if it is stripped from regulatory status. The management is protected, public and the membership is not.
Majority of the members of the ICCRC cannot afford to pay $1500+tax in licensing fees, the license which seems to be just a piece of plastic issued by a private corporation.
Our point here is that that the BILL C-97 is excellent, we all want it, public and membership both feel a great amount of protection. But in current Bill C97, there are certain sections concerning Continuance provision of the ICCRC. Specifically.
This message must be forwarded to a fellow RCIC ASAP.
According to Bill C97, section 85 (7):
- (7) Beginning on the date of continuance, (If section 84 is not deleted)
- (a) the Council becomes the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, a corporation without share capital to which this Act applies as if it had been established under this Act;
- (e) the status of any person who, immediately before the date of continuance, was an officer or employee of the Council or a member of the Complaints Committee or Discipline Committee of the Council and any term or condition of their appointment or employment are unaffected, except that, as of that day, the person is an officer or employee of the College or a member of the Complaints Committee or Discipline Committee of the College, as the case may be;
- (f) an existing cause of action, claim or liability to the prosecution of or against the Council is unaffected;
- (g) any civil, criminal or administrative action or proceeding pending by or against the Council may be continued by or against the College;
- (h) any conviction against, or ruling, order or judgment in favour of or against, the Council may be enforced by or against the College; (i) any matter before the Council immediately before the date of continuance, including any matters related to complaints and discipline, is continued before the College;
How can the Government allow such actors to be part of the new system!!!
How can the public and the membership afford such automatic continuance of the same individuals who appeared to be in-competent, self-interest?
The college and the new system should be clean from all wrong from the past.
