We are delighted to share a significant milestone in preventive healthcare—the Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that the shingles vaccine, Shingrix, will now be subsidized and eligible for MediSave coverage starting from September 2025! This is a major step forward in protecting seniors from the painful and debilitating effects of shingles.

A Big Step in the Right Direction
We sincerely commend Minister Ong Ye Kung and MOH for their proactive approach in strengthening preventive healthcare and making this essential vaccine more accessible. By listening to public concerns and prioritizing early prevention, MOH has demonstrated a strong commitment to reducing long-term healthcare costs and improving the quality of life for seniors.

Key Updates from MOH:
✔ Subsidies Available – Eligible individuals can receive up to 75% subsidies at CHAS GP clinics, polyclinics, and MOH-funded institutions.
✔ Lower Out-of-Pocket Costs – After subsidies, Singaporeans will pay around $75 to $300 for the full two-dose course, depending on their subsidy tier. PRs will pay about $450 per course.
✔ MediSave Can Be Used – From 2026, MediSave can be used to cover remaining costs, further easing financial concerns.

A Win for Preventive Healthcare
This decision reflects MOH’s long-term vision to reduce suffering and unnecessary healthcare costs by focusing on prevention rather than treatment.
