5:45pm Today at City Hall- Share your Support

Dear Friends,
Thank you for showing your support on this initiative to send a message to our elected representatives that we do not want our tax dollars to support the ongoing violence against civilians in Gaza.
As many of you know, the United States again vetoed a UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in the region.
The City Council has refused to put this item on the agenda citing that it is not a “local” issue under their jurisdiction. I don’t think our Council has really heard enough voices of those of us who are personally affected by this horror and find our government’s ongoing complicity deeply disturbing.
I ask that you come to the Council meeting tonight to share your perspective at 5:45 pm with your families. Public Comment begins at 6pm (1 Civic Center Drive in Scotts Valley). At the very least it is important for them to hear perspectives from people of conscience on this issue. In the spirit of community, please speak with civility and compassion.
We will continue to try and educate the Council about facts on the ground and will also send this petition to Congressman Panetta. Thank you for speaking up and please know that your voice is not in vain.
Sincerely,
Fatima
