This petition is being closed since GA House Committee HR1554 has recommended against pursuing new legislation that would have resulted in a governmental taking of our privately held and deeded streambed properties along the upper Toccoa River. The Committee ultimately sided with our position that the existing regulatory framework best protects the interests of all parties, public and private. Your support of this petition helped to prevent a draconian taking of our private lands that would have drastically changed the peaceful nature of our river and only served to degrade our fishery and the health of the river.
