Some reaction happening.

Now that we're over 2000 signatures, Nikki Beach has issued a press release saying that everyone is welcome at "Jolly Beach".

I have spoken with two representatives of our government who tell me that there will be official public parking on this beach. Albeit outside of the original Jolly harbor which was sold for $1 to include parking, at least we are seeing them now consider public parking as being an integral part of anything happening in this area. 

There has still been no consultations with the community or with stakeholders whatsoever. So while the reactive response to our petition is noticeable and welcomed, there needs to be serious open discussion about what is happening in this area and on this beach.

The photo attached here is of the Jolly harbour parking lot which was an integral part of the Jolly harbor development and the sale of which was facilitated after the acknowledgment of this being an integral part of the original development. The new owners not only knew that this was the parking lot but they offered this drawing to the sellers in not only an acknowledgment of the parking lot but a suggestion as to what development could happen on the parking lot while still maintaining over 140 parking spot. 

All of this long forgotten now that this is part of the Nikki Beach Resort. 

There needs to be an official parking spot for Jolly harbour and the expanded community radiating outwards from here that can't be sold or changed in a few years to remove more access which is why we need consultations, and an audience with the prime minister. Keep sharing and encouraging people to sign the petition.
